Facebook News: “Facebook Connect” - a Plugin For Developers and Bloggers Now Available
On the 4th of December, Facebook announced the availability of their next evolution of Facebook Platform: Facebook Connect.
Whas tha?
Facebook connect lets users:
- connect into a website using their Facebook account
- bring their profile with them
- easily find friends also using the same website
- and share info and experiences using the same features as they would on a Facebook application.
Yesterday, Facebook announced their Facebook Connect Plugin Directory to help the developers and bloggers find plugins to easily integrate Facebook Connect into their sites and blogs.
The plugin’s available for the moment are for: WordPress, Movable Type, JS-Kit, Disqus, NetworkedBlogs, RPX and MediaWiki.
Following are some website (given by Facebook) who already use this plugin and some sample of what can be done:
- - Share class notes and ratings of professors on Koofers
- - Share eco-friendly tips with like-minded people on Huddler
- - Watch and comment on videos on Vimeo
- - Share information for events planned at sites like Eventbrite and Acteva
- - Access sheet music at Cantorion
- - Take fun quizzes with Brainfall
