Facebook News: Facebook Not Happy
Sometimes Facebook get angry for some obscur reasons against facebook users, third party applications, some groups, …
This time, Facebook got angry against a growing in popularity application called “Whopper Sacrifice“put out by Burger King itself according to cnet.com.
So why would Facebook do that… I don’t know for sure. But what I know is what the application “Whopper Sacrifice” did propose.
“Whopper Sacrifice” proposed, after you installed it in your facebook profile, to give you a coupon for a free burger after you had deleted 10 people from your friends list.
Quite funny, wasn’t it… and your activity feeds showed who you sacrified…
Unfortunately, Facebook did not share the same opinion about this application. Indee, you won’t find it anymore on Facebook and if you go to http://www.whoppersacrifice.com, you will read the following message:
“Whopper Sacrifice had been sacrified… Facebook has disabled Whopper Sacrifice after your love for the Whopper sandwich proved to be stronger than 233,906 friendships.”
If you missed that and you are looking for a consolation, don’t worry, this has generated a wave of networks, groups and applications quite funny too. You may try (join):
“Petition to Re-Enable Whopper Sacrifice“: Facebook has disabled the Whopper Sacrifice application in which you could sacrifice 10 friends in exchange for a free Whopper. Let’s get a larger list of supporters of the application than the 232,654 friends who were sacrificed by the Burger King application. Please let us participate in the Whopper Sacrifice, Facebook!!!
or
“Sacrifice Ben Echols for a Whopper“: and sacrifice your Facebook friendship with Ben Echols for a whopper. Bonus points to vegetarians and folks like me (who just think whoppers are not very good) who only install the app just to sacrifice Ben.
or (I like it)
“Counter-Whopper Sacrifice“: This group is for all those who are familiar with the Whopper Sacrifice Network.
This group is working almost like the Whopper network, just the other way around - Sacrifice 1 Whopper at Burger King and you’ll get yourself 10 new friends on Facebook. It’s that simple! So come on! Sacrifice one Whopper today and get yourself some new friends while doing this.
or even
“Sacrifice Your Free Whopper!“: I’m urging all those 23,256 people who’ve earned a free Burger King Whopper® (via the Burger King® Whopper® Sacrifice) to sacrifice their sandwich to those who just might need it a little bit more than we do. - thks, Justin D.
and why not (even beter):
“BurgerKing Sacrificial Virgins Group“: why not join our group and find people you don’t know or care about to sacrifice? Join our group and be befriended to only be sacrificed at the alter of the Whopper™. Don’t sacrifice your real friends, sacrifice us!
or
The “Whopper Sacrifice Network“.
